“We are here to engage into negotiations about the Wolfpack.” Zenn said stepping forward, trying to keep up with the beast’s long strides.

“The wolf pack doesn’t need the vampires. We are stronger than the vampires… it is only though their high numbers that the Vampires have not yet died…” The mongrel growled, continuing along the road. “The wolf pack hates the vampires.”

“And the Vampires hate the wolf pack.”

“Except me,” Kitten chimed in again, “I think their pretty.”

Zenn sighed. “Except her. She thinks wolves are pretty.” The wolf stopped, turned around, eying the girl for a moment. It was probably deciding whether or not to say or do something, but deciding against whatever it was that would probably get it killed and turned away again to continue it’s long strides towards a large bar called ‘The New Moon’.

“If the Vampires hate us so much why would they want to engage in negotiations?” The wolf said, pausing about a meter from the bar. Loud music pumped from it. “What has you so scared you’re coming running to your natural sworn enemies… when you have the abomination at your side.”

Zenn looked at Kitten and Kitten looked back at him, a look of utter confusion etched into her face. “What’s an abonimasheeon?” she asked, tilting her head to one side, until she noticed a shiny piece of paper fly through the air, at which point she went to try and catch it.

Zenn shook his head. That girl would go crazy and destroy an entire meet if a girl said meow, but someone calls her an abomination and she goes to catch pieces of shiny paper. He turned back to the wolf. “The Chectla are returning.” He said flatly.

The wolf looked down at the floor and then up at the moon, it was blood red, and full. “It’s not me you have to convince. It’s our chief, and our chief is decided by being the strongest… currently our chief is a wolf named Allec Nevron. He is arrogant… over confident… and will not easily accept an alliance, if that is what you offer.”

“…What is your name?” Zenn asked, narrowing his gaze at the wolf. “Have we met before?”

“Yes. Before we both died… Neither of us were important. Neither of us really would have paid attention to each other. You were the butchers boy, I was the scribes daughter… the only reason I remember you is because…”

“You loved me?” Zenn asked, obviously a little shocked at the revelation.

“What?” the wolf asked, turning around, a little confusion entering her voice. “No. By the Moon, no. You were the first person to ask for my services when I began work alongside my father.”

“Oh thank the blood of the angels.” Zenn said, placing a hand on his chest. “So… your name?”

“Cassandra The Scribe. And you are Zenn, formerly Jacob, The Butcher.” The growling voice of the wolf finished before she opened the bar’s double doors and stepped inside, allowing the doors to slam closed behind her.

“Jacob the butcher…” Zenn sighed. “I haven’t been called that in centuries…”
