“Ok, first, Names? Heroe names, not civilian names. We at the New Virterra Metropolitan Police respect your right to protect your identity against your nemisis.” The man, Neil Strong by the look of his badge, said in a very rehearsed voice.
“And we appreciate that.” Orion said. “Orion, Firefly and Pulse.” He continued. I thought for a moment about the last name, but decided that it made sense not to give up Adria’s identity. Right now the Cops are on our side, if they found out that Adria was the guy who just exploded’s secret weapon... they may not be so lenient.
“Allright.” Neil muttered, noting the names down. “Hey, Orion, I know you. You took out those two Bank Robbers last week.”
“Yeah, hey thanks for remembering. Not many people do remember us C-Listers.”
“No worries, My wife was there at the time, you saved her life. Thank you.” I smile to myself as He extends a hand which Orion gratefully takes.
A moment passes and then the questions continue. “OK, Anyway, How did all,” he waves his hand at the mess of brick, metal, drugs and cops, “this, happen?”
“The drug king pin, Dex, he was moving into the slave trade business. I tried to resolve it peacefully, with, you know... intimidation and what not... but he attacked.” I answered. “The fight went on for a while, and eventually was resolved when I froze his gun. It was a pulse rifle. I didn’t expect him to test it again. I mean he knew what I’d done... the pulse rifle backfired, exploded and... well you know the rest.”
“Uh-huh, Where were you two during this?” Neil asks, turning to Orion and Adria.
“I was-” The words escape Adrias lips before we had a chance to stop them. I see her explanation flash before my eyes and suddenly-
“Henchmen. We were taking out the henchmen, who you will find over there.” Orion cut in, pointing across the road at several battered soldiers.
“All right, thank you folks, good job.” Neil added, nodding to the three of us.
“You two sir.” Adria returned, smiling.
The sergeant nods at the girl and then frowns. “I don’t want to get in you’re business but... She seems a little young for all this.” He smiles and kneels down before Adria. “Finish school and then help your big sister fight crime, OK?” I grin and nod to Adria.
“Yes-sir.” She replies.
“All right, Where do you guys need to go?” Officer strong asks, signalling an officer.
